Grandfather by Neukku Grandfather by Neukku
This is my grandfather. My mothers father to be precise.
I took this portrait of him when I was visiting my grandparents on Mothers Day.

well done mate, although i'd be curious to see the light coming from the narrow side of the face in such a portrait. also, it seems to me that the focus is not on the eyes but on the mouth and the forehead. good job anyway, a great expression you have captured here and yes, your grandpa must have been handsome, and still is, in a way :)

Yes that would probably look quite good too. The classic position for the light to come from (camera right, in about 35 degree angle or so). There was a big window on the left so thats where the light is coming from. I just checked the full-res version and the eyes are in focus. I can see why it might look like they aren't. It's becouse of the wrinkles around the mouth area and forehead come out so sharply.
Thank you for the feedback!

seriously, I don't. I guess you just don't see it yourself :D

someday I can tell all my friends: "THAT's the guy who took pictures of ME!" :excited:
and then they'll be all like: "no way, dude!" :ohnoes:
and then I'll be like: "yes way!"
